RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
UC Davis, Graduate Student, 1998-present. Ph.D. Dissertation: Determining medaka embryonic energy demand under vital conditions and locating critical sites for energy demand during development by assessing targets of toxicants with oxidative dephosphorylation mechanisms.

ToxScan Inc., Aquatic Toxicologist II, 1996-1998. Performed standardized EPA and ASTM Whole Effluent Toxicity and sediment bioassays, organism culture maintenance, and researched the effect of centrifuge speed on the ammonia concentration of pore waters extracted from San Francisco Bay sediments.

Santa Cruz Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, Director of the Blue Water Task Force, 1995-1997. Volunteer Lab Director managed laboratory conducting weekly fecal coliform analysis of waters from local surf spots, trained and supervised water samplers and laboratory assistants, and implemented more advanced, membrane filtration testing method.

UC Santa Cruz, Undergraduate Student, 1992-1996. Site fidelity and homing behavior of the intertidal woolly sculpin, Clinicottus analis.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Teach UC Davis undergraduate students aquatic toxicology principles and test methods and teach high school science students aquatic toxicology principles and test methods.
